The Great Divide
Righteousness will humble you. Self righteousness will make you think you are humble. Well, now I am awake! These were the words dropped in my spirit at 3 am this morning.
Whew! Humbling oneself is not an easy task to say the least!
When in conversation someone nonchalantly talks about their level of humility and how simple being humble is, I take pause.
Humility requires a certain sacrifice that I can honestly say I don't always want to pursue on a daily bases. Why? Because the human condition is flawed by selfishness.
You....I, after the fall of man were opened up to a whole leap of issues that we could not possibly redeem ourselves from.
Good news! God came up with a solution to save us from ourselves by sending us Jesus!
~ John 3:17 NIV ~
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
In order for righteousness to abound Jesus has to be ar the very center of every aspect of our lives. Will it be easy? No.
Given our human condition, there is in fact no other person who has the power to deem us righteousness but him.
When we humble ourselves we have no choice but to give up our pride, and every other thing we carry that it is not a direct reflection of our Father.
Today, I would like to challenge you.
Take some time today to excercise humility and do a thorough search of your heart. Ask God to reveal all the places where self righteousness may have taken foothold and let him erraticate it.
Let him show you what is needed in your life in order for righteousness to abound.
Then every day lather, rinse, repeat.
Blessings.
