Forgiveness

The general definition of forgiveness is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you whether they deserve your forgiveness or not.

Extending forgiveness has been a challenge for me maybe a bit more than I am even admitting right now.

To tell you the truth, I've struggled over the past few years, and even this year. I think we may all agree that thus far 2020 has been what I would imagine the twilight zone to be.

Unforgivable sentiments seem to fly from everyone's keyboards and mouths freely constructing toxic realities that no one expected would see the light of day. This year has really forced us to expose what has been hidden in our hearts and to either deal with, or deny it even exist.

Like many of you, I have purposed to identify and deal with whatever is hidden in the dark recesses of my heart.

Sadly some will not choose as we have and we will be faced with an mportant decision. Can I forgive?

Forgiveness is not one of those things that just happens. In my forgiveness experiences I've found this to be true; Forgiveness can be found when the definition of my life is no longer attached to the trauma caused by pain.

Forgiveness can be found when the definition of YOUR life is no longer attached to the trauma caused by pain. It calls for extremely raw and transparent moments with ourselves where we address our hurt and make the decision to release it every time it occurs.

Yeah, I know easier said than done right? Yes it is, but I am encouraged in knowing that I don't have to make this forgiveness journey alone. Everything I have experienced Jesus has as well. The same is true for you. If you will allow him to he will be with you.

~ Psalms 9:9-10 NIV ~

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord , have never forsaken those who seek you.

When the unforgivable occurs, find peace and wholeness in forgiveness; when you grow tired of the journey, lean on the one who has already conquered it.

Blessings,

Rashena
