Your Shoulders Were Never Meant To Carry Every Weight
We were never meant to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders but to humbly allow God to do as He will. In fact J said to cast all your cares on Him.
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
I Peter 5:6-7 NKJV
CASTING CARES
Casting literally means to throw forcefully. I don’t know about you but forceful to me, is throwing something away determined it will not be a part of you, touching you, or even near you. That’s how we should cast our cares on Jesus. He alone has the power to regulate the outcome.
Ever since I was a kid, vehicles have been where I meet Jesus and feel His presence most intensely. When I was super young and couldn’t drive, I would sometimes sit for HOURS in the back of my parents minivan right there in the driveway and meet with God. I would also have quiet time in the house, but more than often than not you could find me in a vehicle.
Even now it is not uncommon for me to wake up in the middle of the night and drive around and pray. (My brother can attest to this as he was visiting me one weekend and was taken aback when I left and told him why..lol).
When the enemy comes in like a flood casting our cares on Jesus is the answer, when we are reminded of our past and what we’ve been through casting our cares on Jesus is the answer, when we need guidance for the future, casting our cares on Jesus is the answer. One thing I know that no matter what, He NEVER FAILS.
NO ONE is strong enough to carry the weight of life that can sometimes seem to overwhelm us all.
In the moment you become overwhelmed, throw your arm back like a star pitcher on the baseball mound about to give his best winding pitch, and release those care to Jesus like your life depends on it!
