Do Not Be Afraid of Their Faces
I was 11 years old. I stood on a stage that seemed huge and overwhelming listening for the instrumental track to begin. I was about to sing my very first solo at the church I attended. To me, the crowd was intimidating. The church was full of people and quiet and everyone’s eyes were on me. I was terrified.
In that moment, I thought back to my practices for that very moment. I would sing the song over and over making sure I hit the top of every note. I remembered the moments I would start to get nervous thinking about the people who would be watching me. Just then my mind would go blank and I would begin to forget the words to the song I was to sing. My mother would notice and what she would said to me has been with me ever since. She said,
"Do not be afraid of their faces."
To this day when the enemy trys to bring fear or intimidation into my life usually in an attempt to distract me from my purpose, I hear those same words from Jeremiah 1:8 my mother spoke.
~ Jeremiah 1:4-9 KJVA ~
Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God ! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord . Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
We can all relate to Jeremiah and have experienced times where situations may have had us questioning our calling, purpose, or even destiny.
Do not be afraid! What was placed in front of you may be challenging, but it doesn't have the ability to take you out unless you give it the power to do so.
Before you were formed in your mother's belly, God knew you. He knew what you were destined to become, the journey you would be upon to reach it, and the times you would be living in.
There is no age limit to when your destiny can and will manifest. There is no person who can or is appointed to distract or dismiss it. If God has appointed, anointed, and called you to it he will be with you in it. One of my very favorite quotes is this one by David Buehring.
"What God initiates he permeates. What we initiate, we have to sustain."
In my opinion truer words have not been spoken.
What God has for you is for you. Do not be afraid! He is FOR YOU. Regardless of what you hear or see around you. HE is for you!
Be encouraged today dear ones. Even today, HE is for you.
Blessings,
Rashena
